Ocho Rios Jerk and Tings

Ocean City - Jamaican

home owner 0 740 Article rating: 3.0

Saw this place while passing by and since we have a very dear Jamaican friend we thought we'd try it.  We've been to Jamaica and have had authentic Jamaican food by our friend so we were a little skeptical.  I had the Goat Curry which was the special that day (they only have certain specials on certain days).  That was very tasty and came with rice/beans and steamed veggies.  The only issue I had was that the goat was very fatty and between the bones and fat, half of the portion was thrown away.  It was also not cheap.  My wife got the jerk wings.  They were very good tasting but didn't taste like any Jerk we've had from friends or in Jamaica.  We may go back if we're craving Jamaican or missing our friend.

Robin Hood Restaurant

Rehobeth

Although there are a lot more trendy food choices in Rehobeth's shopping/boardwalk area, we wandered into the Robin Hood Restaurant.  Basically a diner which is comforting to us New Jerseyans.  Prices were a little high and the portions smaller than we're used to in NJ but the food was VERY GOOD.  I got a garden omelet with egg whites.  Very fresh veggies and cooked perfectly.  The included hash browns were really good too.  My wife got scrambled eggs which were moist and tasty.  I'm surprised we ended up here on our visit to the Rehobeth area but I'm glad we did.

Luna's Cactus Cafe

Route 54, Fenwick/Selbyville

The Cactus Cafe is our go to for mexican.  It's close to the house and the food is very good.  The free chips and salsa are fresh and all the menu items we've tried are very tasty.  One standout entre is the seafood enchiladas.  Full of seafood with a creamy sause.  Delicious.   We've had tacos and burritos, all good.  Also, they serve alcohol for those looking to have a drink.

Lizzie's Cafe - Lobster Rolls

Ocean City - Rt. 1 and 142nd

home owner 0 736 Article rating: 3.0

Tried Lizzie's Cafe and felt we had to try the lobster roll since that's what they have plastered on the front of the building.  If you are looking for possibly the best lobster roll you've ever had (sorry, I haven't been to Maine), this is the place.  They have 2 varieties, New England and Connecticut.  We tried the New England Lobster Roll which was served cold as opposed to the CT which was warm and had more butter.  It was great, lots of lobster, seasoned perfectly on a buttered, grilled roll.  However, don't go there if you are on a budget.  The Lobster Roll was $37 and was about 6" long.  We got one lobster roll, one garden salad (no meat) and a slice of cornbread (no drinks, just cups of water) and our bill was over $70 for the 2 of us who split everything.  We left pretty full mainly because the salad was large.  On top of the expensive prices, the online ordering (which we were told is the only way to buy something) automatically puts 15% tip on your order (even for pickup).  I'm glad we went and will recover from the financial hit but I doubt we'd go back unless we hit the lotto.
